Memorial Day is almost here, which means summer has started. I’m looking forward to enjoying these long {hot} summer days with lots of playdates, activities and outdoor dinners. This summer will definitely be busy. I’ll be preparing for the holidays in the shop and AG is signed up for summer camp for two weeks. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t a total wreck about it. She’s never been away from me in that kind of setting before. We did the gym in Texas but I was always right around the corner. This time, I’ll be leaving her. LEAVING HER. The place where she’s going is where she’ll be in “school” next year, two mornings a week. I figured it was best to do a little introduction over the summer. But now I’m totally rethinking that decision. I’ll probably sit in the parking lot the first day. Serious. I guess this is just the start of letting go.
Lets talk summer and friday favorites. I’ll be honest and tell you that for me, summer really starts the countdown to fall. Well, August actually or the day the Pumpkin Spice Latte is released is considered the first day of fall in my book. That time of year is always something I start to look forward to. This year, L’s first birthday is in October. I have his theme picked out “first down” football is the route we’re going. This summer will be filled with planning his party, along with miss Avery’s pajama & donut 3rd birthday party in August. How in the world will I have a 1 and 3 year old in a few months?!?
Over the past few weeks I’ve been working hard on getting all summer items in the shop. All but one design is up and ready for purchase. Turnaround time right now is 2 weeks, the cut off for 4th of July orders will be June 10th. I also posted winter PJ preorder last night. My mind is not ready for Christmas, but it is the time to order those cute matching pajamas for your littles. You can find that preorder here. Make sure to follow the shop on IG @shopsimplymadewithlove to keep up with all the new products coming out.
KiKi LaRue is offering 40% off (code 40blast) on their entire website today. After seeing that sale info on IG this morning, I headed to the site and picked up these pants along with a new summer dress. As much as my husband hates palazzo pants, I adore them. They’re so comfortable and a nice change from the everyday leggings I can be found in.
With Memorial Day this weekend, I thought I’d share an easy and festive treat. I shared this patriotic parfait recipe last year and plan on making them again this weekend. All you need is cool whip or yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and graham cracker crumbs. Layer all the ingredients in a fun dish or cup and you’re good to go!
L is what we call “all hands on deck” these days. I can’t let him out of my sight for more than a second before he’s into something. Hubs calls him a wrecking ball. It’s impossible to get anything done these days while trying to keep up with his antics. I’m going to assume this is just the introduction into the world of being a #boymom.
I can’t talk about the wrecking ball without mentioning his sassy sidekick. First, I’d like to know when she grew up? Goodness, she looks like she’s 5 here. Second, we had to make a trip to Nordstrom for new natives for her this week. Little Miss Particular won’t wear any other shoes than her natives. Not even her chucks. So, we grabbed a few more colors to complete her summer wardrobe. And while we were there…..
…these beauties jumped into my hands. I’ve been looking for this color for YEARS and was thrilled when I saw Nordstrom had them back in stock. I’ve been working hard lately, this was a present to myself.
That’s all I’ve got. This weekend is going to be filled with housework, watching the hockey game (GO LIGHTNING) and hopefully a little R&R thrown in there somewhere.
Happy Weekend!

I love the idea of a pajama and doughnut party!! I might have to steal that one of these years. 😉 And that parfait looks delicious, my kids love anything with sprinkles so I think that would be a big hit around here!

haha, well yes that’s an intro to being a boy mom….i have kids similar ages (they’re only 16 months apart though, so my second is a tiny bit older than yours) but reverse genders….and when i saw you say “you are a little bit…NERVOUS” for AG to go to camp, i thought you were going to say a little bit EXCITED – um cuz i’m always excited when my almost-3-year-old boy goes elsewhere for two hours and gives me time to think and sit for a second, with my little one year old girl!!!!!! clearly, your girl is easy if you’re not dying to get rid of her 😉
Oh my gosh Avery looks like such a big girl in that photo!! I love those parfaits, may make that this weekend, great idea!
