If you’ve seen pictures of my littles here on the blog or IG, you’ve probably seen both of them in their Halo SleepSacks. Both AG and L we’re swaddled from their newborn days on. They started in the Halo swaddles and moved up to the SleepSacks.
Over the past few months, we’ve been in the process of transitioning L out of his swaddle, which has been much more difficult than it was for AG. L loved his swaddle, we tried to remove it around 5 months and went for a week of little sleep before realizing he wasn’t ready to let it go. While L may not be the best sleeper, things are much much worse when he isn’t swaddled. I’m talking waking up hourly! My baby boy loves to be snuggled tight, so we decided to go back to swaddling and therefore sleeping! We knew he’d let us know when he was ready to move on up.
Around 6 months, he decided he no longer wanted to be our baby burrito. It was time to move him to the SleepSacks. The SleepSacks still give him the comfort of being “wrapped” but with more freedom with the open arms. Thankfully the transition was much easter the second time around and he’s able to sleep comfortably at night. The only sleep sack brand we’ve ever used in our home is Halo. We started with AG and haven’t switched. As the saying goes, if it’s not broken, why fix it?
HALO is a company dedicated to creating safe sleep environments for babies via safe sleepwear (SleepSacks and Swaddles) and now the BassinestTM Swivel Sleeper. HALO’s founder lost his own child to SIDS and has made it his mission to raise awareness about safe sleep for babies. HALO provides SleepSack Swaddles free of charge to more than 1,300 hospitals nationwide and is constantly looking for ways to educate parents, caregivers and childbirth educators in sleep safety.
Recently, Halo has launched it’s new spring line of SleepSacks. Aren’t they adorable? Luke can be found in his elephant SleepSack most mornings. If I had a baby girl, I would be all over that precious bird print!

Those designs are sooo cute! Our little Elizabeth hated being swaddled! From day one she was a little Houdini! So when it was time to get rid of swaddling, I was so excited! Haha! I know a few tricks this time though and if we are ever blessed with baby #2, I will be looking into the Halo Sleepsack!

I would love to try the muslin sleep swaddles! We have really used the swaddle with baby # 2 and they are working amazingly well! I only have one sleep sack so adding to our collection would be nice! 🙂
the bird print is gorgeous! thank you!
My son loves his. It’s time to move him to a bigger size though, he’s growing too quickly.
love these! Especially the elephant print, which is what my daughter, who is expecting her first child and my first grandchild is decorating her nursery in. She is still in her first trimester and considered high risk because she has PCOS, so we’re doing an awful lot of praying. But we know that whatever God’s will is what will be. I do have to brag a teensy bit, she just graduated last weekend and got her Masters in Early Childhood Education, so I’m one pretty proud mom and I’d love to do whatever I could for them. This would be awesome!
I miss the days when my little one still need to be swaddled up. Now he’s all around the house messing up with things. Haha.
Anyways. That is so cute. Going to get some SleepSack for my next baby, that’s for sure. Just one question though. Do the swaddle wings detach to the sleep sack or are they permanently attached?
Oh I’m right there with you! Luke just started really crawling and pulling up to stand!
