Happy Friday! I planned on posting about our first week of summer fun, but I have a sick little today and instead of taking our trip to the aquarium, we went to the doctor. Thankfully the diagnosis was just a cold but we’re taking it easy nonetheless. For Friday Favorites today, I thought I’d show you some Pinterest inspired house projects on our list this summer.
We’ve been in our house for just over eight months. If you do the math, we moved in a few days before L was born. Four to be exact. Getting settled into a new house with a newborn and toddler is quite the task. In order to keep track of our to do’s, I created a notebook before we moved in. There is a section dedicated for each room. In each section you can find paint colors, furniture pictures, ideas and lists. Lots and lots of lists! While we’ve been good about crossing a lot off from those lists, there is still so much to do. I’m hoping we can put a dent in some of those lists over the summer. Here are a few of the things on that list for the summer.
First up, the laundry room. Ours is upstairs next to our bedroom. Right now it has a wire shelf and that’s it. We lucked out when we moved because the builders had an extra cabinet in the garage. I love the way this laundry room looks from mini manor blog. It would use the cabinet we have and provide an area for clothes to hand dry as well. I’ve already asked my dad to tackle this project for us, hopefully he can conquer it soon.
Next up is a fire pit for the backyard. This is something hubs talks about all the time. Since he’s not a reader of this blog of mine, I can tell you that he’s getting one for Father’s Day. The only catch is it’s a DIY kit. He has to do the work to put it together. hehe. While this one from The Inspired Room is a little larger than we’re going, I love the look.
In our bedroom, there is a little corner that make a great sitting area. Right now we have a rocker for nursing in there. Since in the next four months, I’ll be finishing up nursing I’ve been thinking about what I want to do with that area. I want it to be cozy and a space that hubs and I can enjoy while hiding from the kids. I love this idea from Honey We’re Home.
This next project is for the garage. Currently we have all our mops, brooms and such in the corner of the garage. I love how organized yet pretty this pegboard from The Posh Space is. This one is going on the hubby do list.
My office has been a work in progress since we’ve moved. It’s impossible to keep clean because of the work that is done in there. On a daily basis, my embroidery matching is going, I’m sewing, I need an ironing board to work, I have boxes beyond boxes of products and it’s also where I do all of my blogging and computer work. While I’ve put a lot of organizing systems in the room to help keep it organized, I still have some work to do. This craft room was found on homeketeers. My office is the size of a bedroom with a bathroom attached. While I don’t have the size of the room in this photo, I can definitely take some of the organizational elements and make some changes in my room.
What are some projects on your to do list these days?

I love all these! We have a fire pit/bowl and sadly have never used it! We definitely need to this summer! Happy Friday! I hope the littles feel better soon!

Ohh how I am addicted to pinterest, badly! I could spend hours and hours on there. I just dream about all these room ideas and I do a lot of diy projects lol!
I have to set a timer when I’m on or I will stay on all night and not get any work done!
Moving in 4 days before baby and still having so much accomplished…you are my hero, Leah! We moved in 3 months before Nash was born and I still feel like we have so much to do! Also–that office is a-mazing! Hope everyone is feeling better in your house this weekend!
You are so sweet! Last night was the FIRST night in 8 months Luke only woke up once! Hope Nash is doing better with his sleeping. Maybe once these babes start sleeping regularly, we’ll be able to focus on some other things!
