Back to School in Style

The last week of summer vacation is officially here. Next week, AG starts preschool three mornings a week. I’ve been busy making sure she has everything she needs to get the school year off to a smooth start. School supplies have been purchased. I’ve scoured Pinterest for healthy and fun lunch options and her lunch box has been monogrammed. I have a station set up for homework and a place to display the treasures she brings home. To top things off, this past weekend we took a trip to our local Carter’s to make sure her wardrobe was ready.

Carter’s new fall line has something every for every kid. From modern dresses or running shorts with bright colors for the girls to plaid button-downs shirts or sporty football outfits for the boys. There are so many options that will surely meet your back to school needs. We love Carter’s because not only are their clothes stylish, they’re affordable too!

My goal with back to school shopping for her was comfortable and cute. The other most important thing was good quality clothes that will last. Since she’s in preschool, she’s doing a lot of circle time, playing on the ground with toys and going outside for a period of time each day. So as much as I wanted to grab all the cute colorful dresses that Carter’s has out right now, I decided to take the more practical route.

Shopping with a three year old in tow definitely wasn’t easy, but we had a successful trip. One of the things I loved the most about Carter’s new fall line was how the pieces coordinated. I was able to buy one pair of shorts that had two or three shirts that matched it. I also picked up some pieces that will be versatile for fall, like the chambray button down shirt below.

This is my favorite new pattern. It’s bright, colorful and perfect for fall. The button down chambray shirt not only is adorable with the shorts but it can also easily be paired with the romper for cooler days. I also picked up some solid pink and white shirts to match the floral shorts (right) for AG to wear until the weather cools down a bit.

Now onto my sporty spice. How cute are these outfits? They were definitely daddy’s favorites. They’ll be perfect for school and can take her into the Florida winter months paired with a light sweater. I’m not going to lie, I wish they had my size in some of these outfits!

Of course, while we were there, I couldn’t resist the adorable boys clothes. We’re a big football family, so I especially loved all of the new football shirts and outfits. And can we talk about that little vest outfit? Now all we need is some cooler weather and we’ll be good to go!
