Since I’ve had my kids, I’ve worked hard to try to get my health and body back to the place it was before kids. It’s definitely been a struggle over the last 5 years, with many highs and lows throughout. I think it’s something many of us moms experience. I definitely was someone who enjoyed eating (probably too much) when I was pregnant. I took eating for two literally, especially with my first pregnancy. Right when I had lost all the weight from my first pregnancy, when AG was about a year and a half- I found out I was pregnant with L. I was much more mindful the with my second pregnancy, although I ended up gaining the same amount of weight. I thought after L was born, I’d be able to lose it easier chasing after two but that wasn’t the case.
It’s been three years plus some since L was born. These last three years have been the toughest of my life. I am now a single mom, working full time, trying to find a balance- wanting to give my kids my best as well as finding the time to make myself a priority too. Which some days, seems absolutely impossible and is pretty exhausting. But I set a personal goal for 2018 of not only putting time into myself but discovering my best self.
So, last month I took a leap and decided out to try a nutritional program a friend a mine was raving about. I’m not sure if it was the more energy that grabbed my attention or seeing her before and after pictures. While I wasn’t trying to lose weight, I knew I needed to be healthier. My meals consisted of things I picked off my kids plates or skipping them completely just to enjoy dessert. I was at Starbucks way too often, filling myself up with sugary drinks. While, I worked out often- I made up for it later by eating what I wanted. I was happy with how my clothes fit and my weight, but not with the way I felt. I needed a reset and a refresh. I spent some time researching the program and loved what I read. I loved the results I saw and knew it was worth trying- especially with a money back guarantee.
Today, I’ve been using the program for almost one month, just a day shy of. My goal with this post was to do a full and honest review, so that is what you’re going to get. I will up front say that I am now a consultant with the company, simply because I shared my results. The day I shared some pictures, my best friend called not seeing my posts and we talked about it. She placed her order that night and after a week into the program is down 6lbs. The same has happened with my other friends who have signed up. I had no intention of joining the side of representing the product, but it’s also nice to be able to make the cost back of my products while helping others feel the same way I feel day in and out.
Just one example of how it’s working for my friends…
My Review
So the basic run down of the 30 day program I did is two shakes a day, 2 small snacks and one balanced meal. I am not a shake person and have tried a lot in the past without sticking with them. The difference between now and then is I don’t have time to make meals these days. I prep two on Sunday and use those for lunch or dinner throughout the week. At work, I basically have 20 minutes for lunch- which doesn’t leave much time. At home, I usually get the kids dinner ready, workout while they eat and then eat while they’re in the bath. So the idea of shakes was more appealing to me for the current season I’m in. There is also a cleanse day each week, which I wasn’t looking forward to but I knew my body desperately needed.
When I had my first shake, which was chocolate- I didn’t love it. It wasn’t bad, just not what I was hoping for when it came to sweetness. I read a lot about your palate getting used to them and that is exactly what happened. My favorite shake is chocolate mint or chocolate with PB 2 mixed in. I look forward to my shakes now and love how easy they are. I love doing them at night because it keeps me from snacking after the kids are in bed. The cleanse days are tough but totally doable. Especially since the program gives you things to snack on or eat every hour. I even did a back to back cleanse day last week because I felt so good after the first day.
I mean look at all of this in just one shake and I’m putting it into my body twice a day….
My Results
So, at the 29 day mark- I have lost 7 pounds. My goal was only THREE pounds! The number I see on the scale I haven’t seen since highschool. I’ve lost three inches alone in just my stomach and went down a size in my pants. I actually decided to add more healthy calories into my diet this week, because I didn’t want to lose any more weight. Pretty good problem to have, right? I have more energy which is crazy to me. I’m waking up early on my own without an alarm clock, ready to go for the day. I’m not falling asleep right after I put the kids to bed, I’m staying up, getting things done. My skin cleared up thanks to not putting all that crap in my body AND I’ve saved lots of $$$$ not going to Starbucks and DD for coffee. My grocery bill has been cut since two meals a day are the shakes. It’s easy to justify the program when you look at it as just rerouting what you’re currently spending. I am honestly blown away that this was so easy to follow and produced results so quickly.
A lot of my friends have asked me where I’m going from here. My first response is there is no way I’m stopping this. No way. I am going to continue my shakes, having at least one a day. Sometimes two depending on the day. I will continue to cleanse either once a week or once a month for two days in a row. I’ll continue with their vitamins and some of the supplements that my body has responded well to. For me this is a program that easily fits into my lifestyle. On the weekends if I go to dinner or have a cheat day, I have something to easily and quickly get me back on track.
*I went from 121 pounds to 114. I lost a total of 4 inches overall. I’m only 5 feet, so this loss is huge for me! I went down one size in pants/ shorts. I’ve gotten rid of my sweets craving and have CHOSEN shakes over ice cream. This right here is huge progress alone.
I wish I knew about this program after my kids were born. My goodness, it would have saved me so much money and time!
If your’e looking for a restart, to lose weight or just gain more energy…let me know or send me an email: simplymadewithlove@gmail.com. I’m also happy to share my before and after pictures too. I posted them on IG stories last weekend but don’t think I’m quite ready for them to be out there permanently!
