I’m so excited to share these Peeps pretzels with you today. I tested them out about a month ago. I offer dessert boxes for each holiday and chocolate covered pretzels are always one of the box options. What better way to add a little Easter flair than to put a peep on them?!?
Making these takes less than 10 minutes. It’s so simple, you only need a few ingredients and you’ve got a treat everyone will love for Easter.
In order to make these, you’ll need pretzel rods, peeps and melting chocolate. You can also use the melting colored wafers, but I just used white chocolate for these and added food coloring to change up the colors.
Now today I’m going to share the easiest and most MESS FREE way of making chocolate covered pretzels! You’ll need parchment paper for this and that’s it. Melt the chocolate and pour it on the parchment paper in a vertical line, about 2 inches wide and as a long as you’d want your pretzel covered (see pic below.)
Once you have that, you’re just going to roll and cover your pretzel in the white chocolate. Lightly shake off the excess and place the pretzel on a sheet of parchment paper to set. Do this for all of your pretzels.
By the time you’ve coated all of your pretzels, the first few should be ready to start covering with chocolate. Now you can use colored wafers, milk chocolate or white chocolate with food coloring to make the chocolate that will be used to give your pretzels that extra color. Melt your chocolate, color it if needed and place the chocolate into a plastic bag. Cut the tip off of the bag and swirl the chocolate over the pretzels.
I used piping bags that I use for icing. As long as you have a bag you can cut the tip off, you’re good.
Once you’re done with that step, it’s time to place the PEEP on the pretzel. I used my remaining white chocolate to do this. You have two options here. One is to place chocolate on the back of the peep as press it on top of the pretzel, holding it for a second. Or you can add the white chocolate to the pretzel where you want the peep and attach it that way. Either way, hold the peep in place for a second to make sure it’s setting in the spot you want.
Allow all of your peeps pretzels to set and harden- this doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. Then, enjoy or get ready to gift! If you need printable tags or more Easter ideas, visit this page!
