Okay, this whole pupdate thing started as a cute way to update people (mainly the parentals) on the pups (their grandpups). Now, it’s turning into weekly updates about all the CRAZY issues our crazy dogs are having. Jax is still wearing the big yellow cone on his head and continues to run into every wall. You would think after almost 2 months that he would be a little more aware…guess not. He continues to scratch himself until the point of bleeding when the cone is off. Therefore, as hard as it is we leave it on. He’s still on his antibiotics and has a bit longer to go. He’s still continuing to mess with his paw, making it inflamed and irritated again. The question is…how do I explain to a dog that if he doesn’t scratch his face and chew at his paw, he wouldn’t have to wear the hideous cone?
Now, to the reason for the pupdate today. Puppers #2, Boa now has allergies too!! She broke out with bumps (what we thought were zits) around her face. Since she’s gotten them before, we didn’t think much of it. A week later, they were still there and nasty looking. And then, during my read a thon the other night, I noticed little bumps all over her legs. I would think bug bites, but the dogs aren’t outside much. They only go out for walks and I thought I’d notice if there were a million ants running around her little body. So, I took her to the vet today. Again, we don’t have any answers but a thousand possibilities of what is wrong with her (Jax too). Maybe allergies, maybe bug bites, who knows!!! The mister got home today and realized the infectious bumps on her face popped. The effect of that was blood all over our new couch! Not. Fun. At. All. He did a great job with clean up, because I didn’t notice anything when I got home. I am over these weekly trips to the vet and I am praying we find out what is causing all these issues with our pups very soon!
Here’s Bo on the way home from the vet
