1. Boppy Pillow for feeding. This was one a lot of people wished they had with them if they didn’t bring it. I washed the cover and it’s ready to go.
2. Nursing Tanks. I decided to pack 2.
3. Toiletries. I pictured a few I’ll talk about later on in #9. Things not pictured are tooth brush & paste, headbands, deodorant, makeup, brush, etc.
4. Towel. This was one that a lot of people were thankful to have since the ones the hospitals provided were so thin.
5. Light Weight Robe. I can throw it on over a nursing tank when we have visitors or when I’m walking around.
6. We’ve decided to do cord banking, so we have the kit.
7. Slippers
8. Going home outfit that is lose and comfortable.
9. Comfty socks with a no slip grip on the bottom.
10. Breast Feeding cream, nursing pads, hair ties, body wash, face wash wipes.
Not Pictured:
11. Bath & Body Works wallflower nightlight. The room will smell pretty and when it’s dark we won’t have to turn on the super bright hospital lights.
12. Pillow
13. Camera/ Charger, Laptop/ Charger, I Pad/ Charger, Flip/ Charger, Cell/ Charger
14. Snacks (which are all packed from hubby’s father’s day gift)
1. Blankets: I originally had one packed but decided to throw another one in there.
2. Burp Cloths, monogrammed of course!
3. Sleepers with matching bows. I know I don’t need to bring clothes but I am anyways.
4. Pacifiers attached to clips I made. I don’t plan on using them as I want to try to go a month without but you never know.
5. Mittens for her hands.
6. Hair bows & headbands
7. Going home outfits with matching flowers that my mom made for her. We’re hoping to use the grey one with bright flowers but I know we need a backup!
8. Wipes case, diapers and diaper clutch. I don’t plan on needing any of this at the hospital, but it will be in her diaper bag so it will be with us anyway.
9. Swaddle wrap– adain & anais which everyone raves about.
Looks like a good list. I personally hated the hospital gowns so I'd wear a nursing tank with a ribbed tank or v-neck tee and a comfy pair of gauchos or yoga pants. You can get a cheap pair at Target if you're concerned about getting them yucky. I just felt better in them than in the gown. I am also not a slipper person, so I kept flip-flops at the side of my bed.
Good call on the boppy. I didn't bring it for my first, but learned my lesson with my second & third and brought it.
Also, take advantage of the hospital freebies. You can never have too many diapers!
I'm absolutely amazed at how organized and "ready" you are. I'm not planning on going to the hospital but if I was there's no way I would have bags packed yet!
She will be the best looking little baby leaving the hospital!
You're so prepared! Come on, Avery! The towel is a smart idea. I wish I'd brought one.
One thing I was very happy to have we're the newborn side snap shirts to it Blaire in while we were at the hospital. (like these http://www.gerberchildrenswear.com/Long-Sleeve-Side-Snap-Shirts-with-Mitten-Cuffs/398162060101,default,pd.html?start=3&cgid=neutral-newborn-hospital-essentials)
They kept her arms warm but didn't bother the clamp on her umbilical cord the way a full gown or sleeper would. And they made it easy to change her diaper or let the nurses check her. As a bonus, they didn't have to go over her head. I was nervous about that at first. (they're so tiny!)
I was also happy to have my own pillow (can't remember if you had that) and Chapstick. For some reason, everyone seems to need this.
Also, if you want the nurses to put her foot prints in your baby book, bring that. I didn't know that was an option until I was already in the delivery room.
Our hospital required the overhead lights to stay on at all times when the baby was in the room fir liability reasons Youngetbused to it though. And you don't get much sleep regardless. At least I didn't.
Sorry about all the typos. I cannot type on the iPad.
you are going to LOVE having your plug in! that was seriously my FAVOFRITE thing I had with me– that and my pillow 🙂
Our hospital provided those side snap shirts and we took them all home with us– I agree with the post above- bring home anything and everything thats a "freebie" in the hospital room. 🙂 (we took shirts and blankets, etc… ) 🙂
oh and her things are SOOO CUTE!!! 🙂 Can't wait to meet her! 🙂
We possess four children, two in diapers. Now my better half just conveys two or three diapers, a few wipes, a one of emptiness baggies and a pacifier promptly in her tote. We amass some additional garments in the ass of the minivan. Everything else is sauce.
You’re so prepared, and her things are so adorable! I wish I’d read this when I was preparing for mine. Thanks!
