Nesting fully took over in the third trimester. I already was an organizing freak, feeling the need to reorganize things weeks after I had just done them. But, when nesting took over it was a different beast. I dedicated two full weeks to cleaning and organizing our house, one room at a time. I went through my Pinterest boards for a lot of cleaning and organizing ideas. I walked through each room of our house and wrote down things I wanted picked up, organized or cleaned. Then I made a plan. I set a few hours a day aside to work on each room, since I was off work for summer break I had a lot of extra time. I’m not going to go through what I did in each room for you but I did want to share some of the things I found on Pinterest that are tried and true.
This is a quick organizing fix, put user manuals in a 3 ring binder with sheet protectors.
I’m ashamed to admit that I had never cleaned my Keurig. I honestly hadn’t thought about it before seeing this pin on Pinterest. I followed all the steps and was very pleased with the results. I plan on doing this every few months from now on.
Great cleaning trick for the microwave.
I organized all of my recipes into two binders.
My washing machine definitely needed cleaning the most. This tutorial was great, along with the results. But, it didn’t clean it 100% like it shows in the pictures.
I was most impressed with the results from cleaning my dishwasher. We have hard water and the dishwasher can get a funky smell, this not only cleaned it but got rid of the smell. It’s been over a month now and it’s not back.
I made a receipt organizer for my office. I’ll work on a post for this to explain how it’s used, but I definitely recommend this. All I have to do at the end of the month is pull out the receipts and file them. I know I’ll really praise this post come tax time.
Laminate tiles in the pantry…genius! I had hubs do this the day after I pinned it. I love the results and how everything in the pantry is not falling between the cracks anymore.
Have you tried any Pinterest cleaning solutions that you’ve loved?
I've used vinegar and Dawn dish soap to clean my showers. Works awesome!
OMG girl you are inspiring me!! I am bookmarking this post for next week when Reagan goes back to school. Thanks!!
A binder for all of our manuals & warranties was on my summer to do list. Not sure it's going to get done before school starts but I will get it done soon!
I HAVE to try to get Derek to do the laminate tiles for the tiles. Such a genius idea!
Great tips! I used quite a few of those when we were moving out of our old apartment and had to scrub the place down. I like the binders for the manual idea a lot!
The binder with all the user manuals is a great idea!!
I'm so glad you posted this about the Keurig! We've been guilty of not cleaning ours and have seen this several times on Pinterest. Looks like I'll be adding this to my ever growing "before" baby to-do list!
