I had no intentions of blogging today until I cam across this article that a friend of mine shared on Facebook. It was exactly what I needed to read today and I’m sure it will be the same for some of you.
All moms should read this article.
Here’s a little part of it…
It seems logical. We’re sporting mama bodies and we’re not as young as we used to be. We don’t always have time to blow dry our hair, apply make-up, perhaps even bathe (ducking). The kids are so much cuter than we are; better to just take their pictures, we think.
But we really need to make an effort to get in the picture. Our sons need to see how young and beautiful and human their mamas were. Our daughters need to see us vulnerable and open and just being ourselves — women, mamas, people living lives. Avoiding the camera because we don’t like to see our own pictures? How can that be okay?

I’m guilty of avoiding pictures and can’t count on one hand how many pictures I have of my daughter and I. I honor of this article, I’m posting the pictures I have of my sweet girl and myself. And from here on out I will make sure to have hubs take one of us each week. I know I’ll look back and regret not having a lot of pictures of her first weeks of life…pictures of just my daughter and myself…pictures capturing the unbreakable bond that we already have…pictures that we will cherish and look back on years down the road as we say remember the days..
I can TOTALLY relate to what you are saying. I stay at home with my little sweet girl and seems like I never include myself in the picture. It's usually my husband and daughter. Very cool post! Everyone should definitely take note.
Have a happy day!

I love being in pictures although I am usually in sweatpants. On days when I am all done up and showered I make sure to capture in a picture!
I can relate as well. I have been guilty of this so many times. It's a good reminder to step in front of the camera too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!!
Have a Happy Weekend!
love this post…. I usually only get in the ones when I have makeup on… but you are so right!
thanks for this
I have this same problem! It seriously makes me sick that I hardly have any pictures of Hayden and I. The ones I do are from my iphone and aren't even good quality! 🙁
ugh I can't help but avoid pictures 🙁 but your totally right were just going to get older and older so why not have them see us when we are young. I only like pictures when i've taken the time to get extra dressed up & pretty.
This is a great post! I totally understand and agree that this is what we do! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Wow!! This makes me want to get some pictures of Millie and I. She two months and I think I have one picture of us together since her birth and that was my birthday 2 weeks after.
Great post! That is so encouraging to hear and good advice for new moms.
I love this! A friend of mine posted this article on facebook yesterday and it totally made me cry and stop and think for sure! Thanks for sharing! YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER LOOK BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY SINGLE PICTURE!!!
Great article! I think we are all guilty of this – plus I'm the one always taking all of the pictures or we would have none! You are a beautiful mama inside and out! 🙂
I totally relate to this!! Some blogger mommies make it look too easy. Most days I'm lucky if I get out of my trackpants, I def need to embrace my mama body a bit more 🙂 thanks for sharing!
