Last week I decided it was time to decorate the house for Valentine’s Day. I went to the garage to take out the Valentine’s box and immediately noticed it was really light. I thought I had a bunch of Valentine’s decorations, I was wrong. There were less than 10 things in the box for me to put up around the house. As much as I wanted to high tail it to Target that minute to fix this problem, I didn’t. I decided to open up my computer and turned to my Valentine’s Board on Pinterest. I made a list of things I could make and where they would go around the house. I was able to get a few done this week and have a few more to do next week. Since my decorations were pinspired, I’m linking up for saw it, pinned it and did it today with Katie and Stephanie.
Also, don’t forget about my MAY BOOK GIVEAWAY!

My Creation:
For this project I found the background scrapbook paper and cut strips that were just over 2 inches wide. Then, I took the strips and wrapped them around the candle. I glued the overlapping ends together. If you paper is really long, trim it first and then glue. Once the paper was secure, I used my Cricut to make hearts out of black cardstock. I used hot glue to glue them to the scrapbook paper. That is pretty much it. Simple to do and adds the perfect Valentine’s touch to our entertainment center.

My Creation:
For this project, I used a square canvas, paint, ribbon and a Sharpie paint pen,
I painted red and pink stripes on the outside of the canvas and let it dry. Then I had hubs help with the baby and painted her feet. I pressed them onto the canvas trying my best to get her heels to form a heart. After that was done and she was cleaned up, I used a Sharpie paint pen to do the writing. I finished the canvas up with a few polka dots using the back of the brush. I decided to glue ribbon onto the top in order for it to be hung (I also added a bow). But, you could use a plate stand to display this as well and forgo the ribbon.
I made these for all of the grandparents and this one is displayed at our house. It’s one of those decorations that I will look forward to getting out every year, remembering how little my baby girl was.
I saw this same one too and was SO tempted to do it! 🙂 so glad you did! it looks precious!!
