It’s hard to believe February is here. I feel like it was just yesterday we were ringing in 2013. This month was filled with embroidery orders, play dates, planning AG’s baptism, dinners with friends and family time. I definitely ENJOYED this month. I made the most of each day home with AG, put an effort into date nights with hubs, made it a point to see or call friends and have cherished time with family. There isn’t one thing I would change. That, I’m proud of.
Before I share my goals for February, lets take a look back at how I did in January.
{1} Eat out no more than 3 times. Failed. We ate out 5 times throughout the month. Four of them were lunches and once was dinner. Even though this is a fail, I still think we did good. In the past months we spent over $150 on eating out. This month we were under $90. I’ll take it.
{2} Clean and organize the house. Accomplished. All of our rooms are clean and organized. We even have a large pile of things for the annual garage sale in our neighborhood this April. I have to thank hubs for helping to make this happen. I couldn’t have done it all on my own.
{3} Finalize things for AG’s baptism. Accomplished. Her baptism and celebration afterwards went absolutely perfect. It was such a special day for the most precious baby girl. We are so very blessed and appreciate all our family coming to make the day even more memorable.
{4} Get my teaching blog up and running. Accomplished. Kind of. It’s up and running. But, I haven’t posted much of anything. I have a lot of things I want to get up. First, I need to get my classroom pictures off my backup drive. Hopefully this month I’ll have some time to start posting.
{5} Take the photo class that I bought a groupon for months ago. Failed. I finished the first course but I have a lot more to do. There’s even tests at the end of each course. I didn’t know how hard core this “class” would be! I can’t move onto the next portion until I have the previous course “checked/graded”.
{6} Can’t spend any money on coffee out for the month. Failed. Here’s the thing. I only bought 2 coffee’s this month. That is HUGE for me. HUGE. Hubs and I went to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks every weekend. This month we didn’t go once! I do have to thank friends for a few gift cards for SB so that I could enjoy it without breaking my goal. Unfortunately, on January 28th after I long night and early morning…I just couldn’t say no. And honestly, it was worth it!
Here are some other accomplishments this month towards my 2013 goals:
{#2} I’ve continued with my meal planning. We’re not spending a lot at the grocery store each week and eating heathy meals.
{#6} My business has had more sales this past month than in the entire first half of 2012. I even had to close it for a week in order to catch up and plan AG’s baptism. I’m extremely thankful for wonderful customers and so many of them returning for more.
{#8} Hubs and I both did our date nights in and went out once this month without the baby. I’m so happy that I started this!
{#12} I made AG’s 0-3 month book on Shutterfly and am thrilled with how it came out. I can’t believe it will be time to make her six month book in a few weeks!
I’m proud of my accomplishments last month. I look forward to seeing what I do this month.
{1} Spend no more than $100 eating out in February. This includes our monthly date night dinner out, along with all breakfasts, lunches and dinners. AND…it also includes coffee!
{2} Send out thank you notes. I did all of AG’s from Christmas but I still have to do the ones from D and I. I also now need to do thank you’s from AG’s baptism this past weekend. I already ordered the cards, I just need to write them and send them out.
{3} Complete five posts on Simply Teach with Love. I have a notebook filled with post ideas, labels and docs I want to make available for free downloads. I just need to make the time to get it done.
{4} Spend one uninterrupted hour a week on learning Photoshop. It’s loaded on my laptop now so I have no excuse not to learn how to use it. Hopefully 4 hours will get me started with the basics.
{5} Plan two carbless dinners a week. D and I came up with this one together. It was either to forgo the carbs or dessert. I let him pick.
{6} Make cute Valentine’s gifts for D and AG’s friends.
What are your goals this month?
You have done great stating on track with your goals. I hate writing thank you cards, I am such a procrastinator. Lol so good luck with that one lol.
I love that you are starting a teaching site. I am a teacher or was, before baby arrived. I can't wait to see all your ideas!
What Groupon classes did you buy?? I signed up for a photoshop and an SLR course. Is is the same?! I'd love to chat about it!
