I have a problem, more like an addiction.
I am addicted to sweets.
Addicted to sugar, anything with sugar in it.
Lately, this addiction has been out of control.
Especially at night with desserts.
The minute AG goes into her crib, I head into the kitchen.
Craving something sweet and delicious.
Sometimes it’s a handful of oreos, others it’s graham crackers with peanut butter and chocolate chips.
True story.
I’m working my tail off each day, whether it’s running or doing a DVD.
I eat good all throughout the day. Little carbs, no dessert, etc.
But at night, I’m ruining all my hard work.
I’ve been trying for MONTHS to get rid of this little problem of mine.
I’m good for a few days and then I go right back to my old ways.
This needs to change.
In 8 days I will have a 9 month old.
That means I haven’t been pregnant for 9 months.
I have 6lbs of baby weight left to lose.
And the only way I will be able to do this is to change my nightly eating habits.
Since I know I can’t go cold turkey with my sweets, I’ve turned to Pinterest for some healthy options.
What are some of your healthy go to desserts?
Mind you, it’s definitely harder finding dairy free options!
And I’m not that girl that is satisfied by a bowl of strawberries =-)
It doesn't always work, but sometimes I like some solid dark chocolate (70% OR HIGHER) and some tea at night. It's a sweet little ritual…but if there are cookies in the house, I'm screwed. I just try not to keep them!!
I have the same problem! You have to try those Chocolate & Peanut Butter mixed nuts, the ones in the tall green canister. They are sooo yummy, a healthy fat, and satisfy a sweet tooth. The plain chocolate ones aren't good, get the PB & Chocolate ones- they're a lot sweeter. 🙂
I have been wanting to snack at night lately! I hate eating after dinner but I'm hungry!!! M always suggests fruit but I'd rather have ice cream or chips!! Soo bad!!

Girl, I have the same addiction!! I curb mine with sugar free moo bars! ha Let us know which ones are keepers!!
that is such a great idea!
youll have to start resiting the urge to buy them at the grocery store so they wont be in your home!
SO hard though. my obsession is DQ and ill still venture out of the house just to get it. oops.
wow you really aren't the only one…. i stay at my parents during the week for a shorter commute to work. they aren't shy with a stocked cabinet full of treats…. double stuff oreos ARE my weakness.. i can eat 5 and still want more.. and popcorn is also my weakness. but its not the super buttery kind, just butter… and its ACT II so i think that it isn't TOO bad for me.
did you try using some no calorie sweetener and maybe sprinkle on some cut up fruit like strawberry or raspberry?
Same thing here! I'm good all day and then blow it in the evening! What is it with nighttime? Maybe it is because in our heads we feel like its time to relax and treat ourselves once the baby is sleeping?
Half a banana on a popsicle stick, freeze. Still satisfies your sweet tooth and takes a while to eat it since it's frozen.
mmmmmmmm healthy ice cream?!?!?!? yes please!
I don't understand people who think fruit is dessert. Fruit is not dessert unless it's covered in chocolate or baked into a pie. FACT.
I have no helpful advice as I cannot stop with the sweets either. I was a salty person before Blaire but being pregnant turned me into a sweets freak and it just never went away.
Go here: elanaspantry.com, she has some amazing dairy free, gluten free, sugar free desserts. I highly recommend the almond joy bars and banana cake!
I like banana with peanut butter and chocolate haha. Black Bean Brownies are good too.
I want to try some of those cookies! Sweets are my problem too!
Homemade granola! So yummy 🙂 sometimes I mix it with peanut butter and a banana. Also, I have mixed it with soy yogurt which is good to! You can even eat it plain!
That ice cream looks delicious!
What about trying some smoothies? Freeze some berries and greek yogurt, blend them up for ice cream or a smoothie.
