Since moving into our new house about 8 months ago, one of my goals was to create practical and organized spaces. After moving twice in less than a year, I realized we had a lot of junk. There were too many drawers in both of our old houses filled with a hodgepodge of stuff. When we moved into this house, I swore those junk drawers would not be created. I’ll admit there is one drawer in our kitchen that I need to work on, but for the most part I’ve accomplished my goal.
Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite organized spaces in our kitchen, my coffee station. My love for coffee is strong. I look forward to waking up early, before the kids so I can enjoy a hot cup of coffee. I wanted a functional coffee area in the house that wasn’t over cluttered and also fit with the decor in the house.
The items I had to organize and find homes for were coffee cups, coffee pods, sugar packets, lids for travel mugs and straws/stirrers. Since we have our coffee maker in the corner of the kitchen, I had a drawer underneath and a cabinet above to utilize.
I started with he counter space. I try to keep the counter as clutter free as possible. On the counter is our Keurig Rivo. This latte machine was my birthday present this year. The husband did a lot of research before purchasing this machine. After having it about 6 months now, we still love it. I’ll do a post all about it one of these days. I also have a Starbucks flavored syrup on the counter along with festive straws. I love changing out the straws for the upcoming holidays, it adds a bright touch to the space. The container that the straws is in is from Target.
The next area of focus was the drawer underneath. Again, the containers and straws are from Target. My go to shopping spot with two kids in tow. In the drawer you’ll find assorted tea, espresso pods, straws, napkins, sugar packets, lids for travel mugs and coffee sleeves. Monogrammed sleeve from Simply Made with Love. What I love about this drawer is how easy it is to keep organized. Everything has a home which keeps from it getting cluttered.
The last space to organize is the cabinet above. This is where all of our coffee mugs and cups are stored. One thing hubs made me to when we moved was go through all of our coffee mugs. I have a tendency to collect coffee mugs. He made a rule that when I buy one I have to get rid of one I already have. Sometimes I follow the rule, most of the time I don’t. But, I did do a major purge of mugs when we moved this time and kept my favorites. I also keep honey and cinnamon in this cabinet too. I use cinnamon in my coffee everyday and hubs uses the honey for tea.
There you have it, my DIY coffee station. This little area of my kitchen is one of my favorite spaces in the house. I also love that when guests come over they can easily find everything they’ll need to make a cup of coffee or tea in one area. I hope you enjoyed this peek into my kitchen. One of these days, maybe when Luke starts sleeping longer, I’ll share more about our house!
Do you have an area in your kitchen for your coffee?
I see a Lilly coffee cup! They are my favorites! I wish I could get my coffee station to look this organized.

Thank you! That’s one of my favorite mugs!
Cute station! I love all your different mugs! My fiancé and I are obsessed with our espresso machine so we set up a little space for it in our dining area. I even made a painting to hang above it!

So cute and well organized coffee station! You have inspired me to redo mine now!
Thank you! I can’t wait to see pictures!
Love how organized this is! I’ve seen lots of people do the under the counter drawer – I dont use K-cups so mine is an over the counter cabinet. I have way to many mugs but can’t imagine parting with them 🙁
