Luke,
You’ve now been in this world for 9 whole months. Longer than you spent in my belly at this point. My pregnancy with you flew by and since you’ve been born, things haven’t slowed down. Not one bit. You are still a chill baby. You rarely cry and if you do, you get over things fast. You’re still not a sleeper at night. This has definitely been the most challenging thing this month. We’ve made a lot of changes to help you sleep through the night. After a change you’ll do good for a few nights and then go right back to getting up every 3-4 hours. I can count on one hand the number of times you’ve slept 7 or more hours. You’re lucky you’re darn cute! We’re determined to find a solution for this little problem, hopefully we’ll find one this month.
This past month your personality has developed a lot. You have the most adorable laugh. Your sister is the one that makes you laugh the most. She knows just what to do to get those deep belly laughs that are so contagious. You’re understanding more of the world around you. You are OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse. I mean the minute Mickey comes on the TV you start squealing like a little school girl. Then you stand and start dancing (bouncing) to the hot dog song. I admit that sometimes we put Micky on just to see your little show. While you started babbling a lot more this month, we’re still waiting to hear mama and dada. I hear boys tend to take a little longer with development. Nonetheless, we’re working a lot with you making sure to model all of the sounds.
I mentioned last month how mobile you are. Well, this month your mobility has increased. I spend my days chasing you around, figuring out how to Luke proof the house. You’re our wild tornado, boys are very very different than girls. Last week, you climbed on top of your train to STAND on it to reach something higher up. If this is what 9 months looks like, I don’t know if I’m ready for the future. I may need to cover the playroom in gym mats and let you go to town!
Even though you’re a wild one, you’re a complete mamas boy. When I get you up, you snuggle into my arms and we just stay that way for a few minutes. I soak in everything about you. Your scent, your chubby toes, your long fingers that love to grab at my face while you nurse and your sweet cheeks. I love every single thing about you and as sad as it makes me that you’re well on your way to one, I love watching you grow.
If there were one thing I could tell you right now, it’s that you complete our family. You are loved more than you could ever imagine. We’re all so blessed to be able to call you ours.
Love you sweet boy,
xx Mama

We love the hot dog song! LOL! My little one dances to it as well! 🙂 There’s just something about that Mickey Mouse! He is so cute and it looks like he’s quite the adventurous baby boy! It’s amazing how quickly time is going by. My whole pregnancy went fast and now this month, Elizabeth will be turning 11 months. Let’s put our forces together so we can stop time, for just a teeny-tiny bit! I’m not sure if I’m ready to have a toddler!
