Miss AG.
My sweet girl, you are three years old today. THREE! I’m not sure how it’s already been three years since you made your entrance into this world. Three whole years! Three years of morning snuggles. Three years of staying home with you. Three years of lots of books and kisses goodnight. Three years of checking the monitor after you’re in bed, talking with your dad about how much of a light you are in our lives. Three years have passed by so quickly and I’m absolutely sure they’ve been the best three years of my life.
Three years ago you were the answer to so many prayers. You made me a mama. The minute you were born, I felt a love like I had never felt before. At that moment, I didn’t think my heart could be more full. But, I was wrong. As time passes and you continue to grow, so does my heart.
This past year was a big one for you. You became a big sister. You moved into a new house. You started school, swim and gymnastics. You’ve grown so much and I love the little lady you’re turning into. When you little brother was born almost one year ago, you fell perfectly into your big sister or little mama role, as we like to call it. You have been so sweet to your brother from the day he was born. You watch after him, love to snuggle him and always want to play with him. While you don’t love sharing all of your toys or when your lego towers get knocked down, you are still so sweet with him. I know as he gets older and is able to really play with you, you’ll be on cloud nine. Some of my favorite moments from this past year are precious moments between the two of you. My recent favorite is that you want go in and get L up in the morning and from every nap. You know how to open the door and turn on the light. You want to do it all by yourself, I’m not allowed to help. So, I peek in, listening to “Hi little brudder! Your’e UP! I’m SO happy to see you!”
When I think back over the past year, I would say the biggest change has been your communication. While you are only three, I feel like I’m talking to an adult most days. Your vocabulary blows me out of the water. You are talking from the minute you wake up until the minute you fall asleep. You can easily express what you like, what you want and how you feel. You love to learn about things around you by asking a lot of questions. You can sing your ABC’s and can count to 18. You’re a mini me and love to do what I’m doing, from exercising to cooking dinner. You also love to color and “work” in my office while I’m working. Your nana and papa think you’ll be an engineer when you grow up because you love putting things together and find creative ways for doing things.
While you have a little sass in you, you’re so very sweet. You’re a very well behaved little one. Some fits are thrown but they’re few and far between. You love to love and express your love. You make everyone around you feel like they’re the most important person in the room. If someone comes to our house and spends a little time with you, they’ll typically get lots of hugs, hear that they’re your best friend, lots of I love you’s, they’ll get compliments on clothing or earrings and thank you’s for coming to play. You definitely melt hearts and are loved by so many.
You are a pretty cautious girl and it does take you a bit to warm up in new environments. Once you’re comfortable, you make friends with everyone around. You love people and being around friends. You love to be active and to be outdoors. You look forward to seeing your friends at school, seeing Miss Nicole at swim and talk about gymnastics with Miss Missy all week long.
You really are my best friend. I wake up in the morning and can’t wait to hear “mama, I missed you!” I love to hear about your night, your dreams and what you want to do that day. On the mornings you’re in school, my favorite part of the day is picking you up. You run into my arms, saying “mama you’re back” and then we talk all about your three hours away. You’ll look at me throughout the day and say, ” I love you mama.” I respond with “I love you sweet girl.” To that, you say ” I love you most.” Melts my heart every single time. You still ask to be held and for snuggles, which I happily oblige. I cannot get enough of you.
I couldn’t ask for more in a daughter. You’re a dream come true and a blessing from above.
I love you so much. To the moon and back, always and forever.
Love,
Mommy
