When I think about summer, I think of ice cold lemonade, time spent at the pool, homemade popsicles and later bedtimes… just to name a few. School has been out for a few weeks now and we’ve already had our fair share of ice cream dates, spent lots of time playing outside in the sprinklers and have used the slow rainy days to snuggle up and watch lots of movies. Summer days can be long with school being out, but they definitely are fun.
Did you know that today is the first official day of summer? We’ll be celebrating by playing with friends, running through sprinklers and maybe even going on a little ice cream date.
One of my parenting goals during the summer is to get the kids outside playing as much as possible. There are two reasons for this…
-one-
Of course, for the kids for them to have loads of FUN. That is the number one goal after all.
-two-
For LONG naps and EARLIER bedtimes. I mentioned the days of summer can be long, especially without school in session. A few long naps and some earlier bedtimes are much needed every once in a while. Heck, I know I need a nap every now and then, especially chasing two kids through sprinklers all morning.
Today, I have a little round up of some fun outdoor toys that are perfect for summertime. We have all but two of these toys, the trampoline and bounce house. Both of which are already on the kids birthday lists. The rest are tried and true, perfect for outdoor summer fun with your little ones.
Sand Table / Bounce House /Ball Set
Inflatable Play Center / Slide / Playhouse
Trampoline / Mower / Picnic Table
Every year, we make a bucket list for the summer. In the past, I’ve created one for our family. I think about everything we can do with the littles, things they would love and things that would be a lot of fun. You can see the bucket list from the last few years below. We usually print it out, frame it and check things off as we go. This year, I’ve decided to let miss AG create the bucket list for the family. We’ll be making it when Luke goes down for his name today, keep an eye on IG to see what fun things she wants to do this summer!

Summer means construction season for me (Lady engineer over here!) But I quite enjoy being outside and the sun, so it’s not the worst. I love your list of things to do, I might have to add some of them to my list!
I love having bucket lists for the different seasons! I want to take a road trip (We’re going to Pittsburgh in July), watch fireworks for the 4th of July, have a fire (with smores, obviously!) and have a girl’s day at my lake house with my girlfriends. Great list!
What an awesome bucket list! I need to make my own now that the kids will be done school next week

So many fun outside play things. The more the merrier in my book. Aria loves being outside.

What cute ideas! While I don’t have any kids, a few of these are on my list anyway! 🙂
Love this! We really need to put a summer bucket list together too! I am so excited for the next few months!
Ahh there are so many cute things! I can’t wait to buy all the fun summer toys!
Lots of fun things planned! I really want to make popsicles too, I bought a popsicle mould awhile ago and keep forgetting to pull it out! #momfail
We bought our kids a trampoline last year for their combined birthday present and it was seriously a home run! They love that thing!

We have a water table and sand turtle and they get so much use. I would love to get a small bounce house for C.
