Oh friends, what a week it’s been. I don’t think I’ve ever been as ready for a Friday to get here as I have this week. After a half day of daycare, Luke was exposed to hand, foot and mouth. We found out last Thursday and his symptoms started on Friday. Any parent who has had a little one with HFM knows how absolutely horrible it is. He had a fever for a long time, wouldn’t eat, was up every three hours and just spent days crying in pain. My heart was completely broken and having to go to work everyday was tough. But my mom has been an angel with both littles this week. She’s been home with them, tried to keep the kids separate and kept me updated all day. Yesterday, things started to look up for him and we’re praying he’ll be better by next week. Also praying AG continues to be symptom free. HFM is one of those things you deserve a parenting badge of honor for surviving. We’ve earned ours this week.
I do have a long list of favorite things I’ve been wanting to share with you over the month. Today, I’m going to get started on that list. First up is this new Essie Couture Gel Polish. I picked it up last week and immediately tried it out. I love it! It is long lasting so far and I am obsessed with this color (take me to thread) for the fall months.
Speaking of fall…..
I am so ready. I’m dreaming of the cooler weather and a pumpkin filled house. My mom this week surprised me with Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Spice k-cups this week. Heaven!

A bunch of my students have these knit like Nike’s and I love them. They look so comfortable and soft! There’s a good variety of color choices but I’m thinking I’ll be able to match this black and white pair the most.
You can see all of the fun colors here.
Saturday mornings are now my favorite. Transitioning back to work has honestly been easier than I thought, but the one thing I miss the most are the quiet moments with these two. The moments we were just snuggled on the couch, in mix matched pajamas, as they were just waking up, enjoying a morning drink. This whole full time job thing happened really fast, I kind of wish I had a few extra days to soak up my time at home but on the other hand, I definitely appreciate those moments more when they do happen. I have a whole post coming on the transition.
How cute is AG, holding L’s hand while they watch Saturday morning Disney Jr.
Tonight is going to be a grilled pizza kind of night. While I’m ready for fall to get here, making pizza on the grill is something I enjoy over the summer. It’s really easy to do, fun for the kids to get involved in and a great Friday night tradition. You can find the grilled pizza recipe here.
Now the big question is what to pair with the pizza……
