Tomorrow is the first day of school. I think I’m as ready as I’m going to be. The lunches are packed, AG’s uniform is picked out, my clothes are out and backpacks are filled. Tomorrow will be the first day our entire family has to get up and out of the house together. I’m hoping all the preparation we’ve done beforehand will help speed things up.
From the teacher stand point, my classroom is ready and my plans for the first three days are done. Since I’ve gone back to teaching this year, I’ve had to purchase tons of things for my classroom. Many teachers spend their own money to make sure their students have everything they need each year.
If you have a child in school, I’m sure you’ve heard of Box Tops for Education. It’s a great program that helps give back to schools. What I love about this program is it’s super easy and the schools get CASH for their box tops! In my past school, the extra cash helped pay for kids to go on field trips who couldn’t afford to.
Right now, Walmart and General Mills have teamed up to bring you 5 for 1 Box Tops for Education. All you have to do is buy your favorite General Mills products (Cheerios for us,) cut/rip the Box Top for Education label off the package and keep them in a safe place. Box tops can be found on so many items from cereals to fruit snacks to frozen meals.
At our house, we have a little bucket for all box tops. AG usually spots them right away and can tear some out herself. She loves filling up the bucket and bringing them into her school when they’re due. There are even some fun printables for the kids to glue the box tops on to, which makes it a little more fun!
Are your littles ready for back to school?
We’ve been collecting this for my niece and nephew for their schools. It’s such a simple way to give back and support.

We definitely save ours. Twice a year my kids school has a Box Tops challenge and the class who brings in the most wins a kickball game against the principal!
you’re so organised. School doesn’t start here for another two weeks. I really have to get orgainsed too.
Wow, I did not realise that kids went back to school this early already. Here the kids in private schools go back in 3 weeks, and public in 4 more weeks. My little one is not in school yet but I love the Box Tops for Education idea.
I was a box top coordinator for years at my son’s old school. This is and has always been such a great program for school.
I buy so many things that have box tops but I never knew what to do with them. Thanks. Although my daughter won’t start school util next year, as a former teacher I try to do my part.
I love LOVE box tops for education! They make so much difference to our schools. Awesome!
BoxTops have been around for a super long time. Since I was a kid in elementary school so that was 20 years ago…yup a long time!
Can’t believe it’s time for back to school. We have always supported our kids’ schools including collecting box tops.
Schools deserve our all out support, after all they are the ones who take care of our kids’ learning! I really appreciate these box tops and what they do for our local schools. It’s awesome that you’re taking part of it as well!
I need to be organized like you! I love the Box Tops program – it does so much for the schools.
we have always done this as I think that this program is a good one. I know the schools really appreciate those who DO participate!
Box tops have been around for so many years and it’s such a great program! I love how much it supports the schools.
LOVE box tops! When I was a teacher we used to collect them, too – they really are a blessing for schools! Good luck with a new class; sounds like you’re prepared!
I used to do the Box Tops for Education thing when my daughter was in school. Her school was so small and underfunded that it needed all the help it could get. What we did was somewhat helpful.

We don’t have to do boxtops yet but when we do I’ll be collecting. This program is so important to them.
We are all about collecting box tops! My daughters school has a competition so it’s actually kinda fun collecting!
