September is here, September is here! I’m shouting it from the rooftops and jumping with joy. This past week some of the holiday decor has come out at Target, I’ve already stocked up on everything pumpkin spice I could get my hands on and have been enjoying Dunkin Donuts pumpkin coffee all week. To top it off football starts this weekend. My most favorite time of the year is here.
If I’m being honest, this past month was one of the toughest I’ve had in a long time. When I went back to work, things happened quickly. Really quick. A week after I started, Luke got really sick. He had a 103 temp for two weeks straight. The nights were sleepless, my little one wouldn’t eat or drink, it was the hardest we’ve experienced with him. My mom was a saving grace (as usual) and stayed with him every single day for over two weeks. The weekend he started feeling better (last weekend) my grandma suddenly went into the hospital. On Monday, she passed away. This week has been a blur. The best word I can use is just numb.
In all the chaos and sadness, I’m grateful for a wonderful support system. My husband who has been supportive and flexible with his job so I didn’t miss a day of mine. My work family has been nothing short of amazing, helping with everything work wise. And support wise too! Checking in everyday. Sending flowers. Arranging subs and the words “go take care of your family, we’ve got this” have been said many times. I made the right choice going back, I don’t have an ounce of doubt about that. And my sweet friends who have just been there. Checking in, sending cards, dinner and most of all their love.
So today, I’m excited for a new month. Excited for a fresh start. I have the next five days off of work and plan on getting caught up on all. the. things. We have a hurricane day today, tomorrow we’ll be saying goodbye to my sweet grandma and then it’s a long weekend thanks to Labor Day on Monday. A few days of quiet is much needed.
Now, since it’s a new month, I have a new set of wallpapers for you. I couldn’t wait to see what some of my favorite designers had for this month and as usual, they didn’t disappoint!
