Happy Friday! We’re one week into April and I’m already looking forward to May. This month is testing month for my students, which means a lot of added pressure and stress for me. Plus, May brings the last month of school, teacher appreciation and all things summer will be on my mind. Thankfully, this past week flew by…lets hope the next three follow suit.
Today, I’m bringing you some of my recent favorites. I have about 10 Friday Favorite posts started from the last few months that haven’t been published. Some you can find the start of Halloween favorites, others have all things winter and holidays, followed by New Years motivation. I’m talking months worth. All of which I plan on saving for later in the year.
After I went back to teaching, I thought I would be able to continue with three posts a week on the blog. Ha! My only time to write is at night after the kids are in bed and most nights I’m in bed not long after them with no motivation to do much other than RELAX. This has led to about three posts a MONTH over the last few months. It’s been a hard transition back and I’m still looking for a balance that keeps my priorities where they should be.
Over the last two weeks, I have started using a few new apps for organizing and to do lists. It’s actually made me more productive and I’ve been able to fit in everything that is important with time left over. I’ve also made a slight change to my diet, cutting out some sugar and I’ve noticed my energy has increased. Whatever the reason, I’ll take it. Lets hope things can continue like this.
Now, lets get to the Friday favorites.
ONE
A few months after I went back to work, I closed my business. There were a lot of factors that went into this decision. The biggest one was that I wasn’t going to put any time I had with my kids aside to do any work. It was already hard enough going back to work full time after being home for 4 years. The last thing I wanted to do was work more when I got home or on the weekends. Nonetheless, the decision was hard. There are days I miss the connection I had with my customers and seeing my creations being used. Besides more time with the kids, another great thing that has come with closing shop is finding my love for creating again. It’ nice to be able to craft and create without deadlines or having to make sure everything is perfect. A few weeks ago, I found these cute planters at Ikea. My mom and I both grabbed a few, knowing they would made a great gift. I kept one for myself, added this saying and it’s now on the front porch. AG and I planted the flowers a few weeks ago, this just screams happy spring!

My go to weekend outfit lately has been shorts, a tee and converse. All of my tees and shorts come from Loft and they’re on SALE for just $14 right now. I have the shoreline converse, but these cute ones are on sale right now for just $30. They’ve been in my cart for over a week, I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. And drawstring shorts? Yes please! What do you think?

THREE
Can we talk about this face? You’ve probably heard me use the words wild and crazy when it comes to this little one. You guys, I can’t even begin to explain how much of a daredevil he is. He knows exactly what he’s doing too. We’ve had the sprinklers and little pool up a few days this past week since it’s already reached 90, both kids are loving it.
FOUR
While my house has been decorated for Easter since Valentine’s Day, I’ve yet to do anything else to prepare. The kids did some crafting with Nana this week that involved bunnies and eggs. But that is about it. Next weekend, we have lots of Easter fun planned and I’m hoping to get their baskets finished on Sunday. I did pick up some M&M’s that I’ve been enjoying with popcorn as a snack.
FIVE
My students know I love chocolate and coffee. Some days I get a nice surprise with both as a treat. This day, not only did I get chocolate and coffee but my Sharpie order arrived. Did you all know there were brush tip Sharpie markers? These are going to take my teaching charts to a whole new level! If you’re a pen or stationary obsessed person like me, you have to try them!
Happy weekend friends!
So good to have you back!!! Missing you friend x

I miss your store too, but I’m glad you’re doing what you need to for you and your kids. I have not been putting millie first (obviously) and it’s showing lately, so glad to be back focused on just her and I. Blessings
