Week 3 of summer is here. I’ve spent the last few weeks enjoying some down time, doing fun things with the littles and trying not to think too much about to do lists and work. While I would love to spend the entire summer in this mindset, I do want to use this “off time” to get some things done I haven’t had time for this year. So this week is time for me to start on some of those lists and make this as productive of a summer as it will be fun.
Here’s a little bit of what life has been like currently.
ENJOYING
There hasn’t been a big break in the rain over the past week. On the few times there was, the littles have been loving this new pool. AG and I bought it the day school got out for the summer. I was a little weary about the size when I bought it, hoping it wasn’t one of those that looked bigger in the picture than in real life. Thankfully, it was more than I imagined and the best $50 I spent this summer thus far. The kids love it. There are enough things for them to play with so they aren’t fighting over anything. We’ve had a bunch of friends over throughout the last few weeks and they’ve all enjoyed playing in it. I think we had 6 kids at one point and there was still plenty of room. It gets two thumbs up in my book!
READING
My goal this summer was to read a book a week. I need to work on setting realistic goals. I have finished one, this one. I started it months ago and it was tough to get through. Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarty was definitely not my favorite, it was tough to get through for me. I was a HUGE fan of Big Little Lies and The Husband’s Secret , which I would recommend over and over. This one was just okay.
WATCHING
Last summer, I watched Bloodline and loved the first season. I didn’t have the same love of the second season, so I didn’t continue watching. Then this summer a friend of mine was talking about how great the third season was, so I started back up with the second season. I have to say it was tough to get through in the beginning, but it’s picking up now and I can’t stop watching it.
WORKING ON
A few weeks ago, I was talking with my neighbor about working on the landscaping in the front of the yard. Before I knew it, she drew up a plan of what we could do to and was researching plants that would work in the space. I started on the project by pulling out about 5 of the plants. Holy moly, I had absolutely no idea of how hard it would be. Most plants I usually pull out are dead, so they’re easy. These had been there for almost 3 years, roots were planted and they were tough to get out. After about 3 hours, I had the job done. I was soaked in sweat and covered in dirt, but pretty darn proud that I was able to do it myself. Now the fun part of planting begins.
LISTENING TO
I’m obsessed with this new song from Dylan Scott.
SWOONING OVER
Nordstrom has a great sale right now, here are some things I’m trying to talk myself out of buying!
This one shoulder dress is almost half off right now, perfect for summer BBQ’s.
This cold shoulder top has great reviews and comes in a bunch of fun colors.
I’ve loved these sandals on a bunch of bloggers this summer, now that they’re on sale I may need to get them for myself.
Which of these would you purchase if you just had to pick one?

Oh girl I am with you! Bloodline is just terrible! Truly, Madly, Guilty was a mess. But the little pool—perfect!
Did you order your pool off Amazon?? Seems to be more expensive but I love it and am trying to find a good one!
No, I found it at Walmart!
I am with you on Truly, Madly, Guilty – definitely not my fave either! Happy Summer gorgeous friend – always thinking of you x
