The time is here. The time for me to dust off my keyboard, and get this little sit back up and active. I’ve missed this space of mine. I’ve missed sharing new recipes I finally made. I miss sharing deals or products that the kids LOVE. Most of all I miss the community that surrounds blogging. I read a book recently that said you needed to have three types of hobbies- one that will make you money, one that keep you in shape and one that allows you to be creative. Not only does this blog help a bit financially, it’s a big creative outlet for me. When I blog, I cook more, I create more and am constantly searching for things that inspire me.
So, I’m back. Maybe it will be a few posts a month. Maybe once a week. Maybe even more. I have a lot of content from this past year that I’m looking forward to sharing. From my littles birthday parties to new recipes to fun DIY ideas and hacks. To kick things back off, I’m starting with a few favorites on this cool Florida Friday.

A goal of mine for 2018 was to read more often. I set a goal for 18 books this year. I haven’t read more than 3-4 the last few years, but I’m already on number five for 2018. Girl, Wash your face is my current read and I’m loving it. So many a-ha moments and lots of inspiration. Especially at this stage of my life with littles who aren’t so independent and lots of transitions happening. It’s a light, easy read.

Spring is here….well technically but it sure doesn’t feel like it right now. Close to the end of February, there was a gorgeous weekend. Temps in the low 80’s…it was glorious. I ran to Lowes and picked up all of the flowers I could possibly find. With both littles in tow of course, which always makes for an eventful trip. I’m happy to report that we were out in less than an hour, had some fun with flower pots (see picture) and no one was hurt. We left with this entire cart of prettiness and immediately got to work. I even posted this picture saying I hope we don’t get a cold front. Then the next weekend, cold front. And it’s pretty much remained cold since then. My plants haven’t died but I’m definitely ready for the warmer weather so we can be outside enjoying our hard work.

I try to make a trip to Trader Joes about once a month. It’s about 30 minutes away, so not convenient to go once a week. I have a post that was started years ago with my favorite TJ’s items, which I totally need to finish. There are so many items that I use weekly from there and their prices can’t be beat. Last summer I bought these little sparkling wines. Last year they had a Rose and a white wine. This year they had a peach. It’s perfect for spring and summer. The price can’t be beat either.

Last weekend, Loft had a 40% off day. I was so excited because I had Loft cash to use, which means not only did I get 40% off my purchase, I received an extra $25 off every $50 spent after that. I may have had 5 of those coupons…which means I lucked out on this day. Big time. Anyhow, I told my mom on my way to the store that I would either find nothing or everything. Thankfully, it was a love everything day. Loft has so many cute things for spring. I love their shorts this year, they’re super soft and lightweight compared to years past. I also bought a few more things that I’ll share next week. My favorite steal of the day was this green peplum utility jacket. I saw it on a store associate as I was checking out, asked if it was current and immediately found my size. This jacket will be great for spring and fall, easily dressed up or down.

Easter is just over a week away. I’m almost finished with the kids’ baskets and a few fun activities that I planned for them before the holiday. Last week, we had our annual egg hunt at the house. The kids had a ball and we’re all sugared up afterwards. AG’s class is having a little egg hunt next week. I’m thinking of using these bag toppers for her to bring treats for her friends, non edible of course. Maybe little erasers or playdoh.
That’s all I’ve got, have a happy weekend friends!
