We’re half way through October, which means Halloween is just around the corner. Over the last few weeks, we’ve visited a pumpkin patch, found cinnamon brooms for the house, got lost in a corn maze and have baked with pumpkin a few times. We’re making our way through our fall bucket list. The kids are having a blast and I’m soaking up the memories. This week AG said she wanted to make something festive for our Friday treats instead of the usual cookie. We decided on witch hat cupcakes as our sweet Friday treat for the teachers at our school.
I love making these each year. They’re so stinking easy to make. When I taught baking classes last year, these were always on the list. No matter the age, they’re great for kids to make.
Here is what you need for this post: Oreo thins, Hershey’s kisses, Chocolate Cupcakes (made using boxed chocolate cake mix,) two different colors of store bought icing.
First, ice the cupcake. Use whatever method you’d like. Just make sure the entire cupcake is covered with icing.
Next, add some festive sprinkles.
After that, unwrap the Hershey kiss. Put the second color of icing on the bottom of the kiss.
Grab an Oreo thin and place the Hershey kiss on top of the Oreo thin. This will be your witch hat.
Place the “hat” on top of your already decorated cupcake and you’re ready to enjoy!
I love bringing these witch hat cupcakes to holiday parties as well. They’re fun for both kids and adults to enjoy!
Do you have any Halloween treats that you make every year?
Here are some of our other favorites.
