Do your kids love to be in the kitchen with you? Mine do but when they want to make something, I try to keep it simple and quick because they lose attention easily. One thing I started making for every holiday is chocolate bark. It’s so easy to make, it takes less than 20 minutes from start to finish and it’s FUN for the kids. I’ve made Fruity Pebble Bark, Rice Krispy Bark and candy bark. Each one has been a hit in the house not only with the kids, but with the parents too! For Easter last year, I decided to add to my bark list and made Easter Oreo bark. It is my personal favorite because it’s the perfect sweet and salty treat. Think a cookies and cream candy bar with the added crunch of M&M’s and salty satisfaction with the pretzels. You’ll want to try this recipe ASAP!
Here is what you’re going to need to make this easy treat.
Melted white chocolate, smashed Oreo’s, M&M’s, pretzels and sprinkles. You’ll also need a baking sheet or flat surface along with parchment paper.
First, pour your crushed Oreo’s onto the parchment lined baking sheet and spread out. There are about 2 cups of crushed Oreos here.
Next, pour the melted chocolate all over the crushed Oreos. There is about a cup of melted chocolate here.
With a spoon or spatula, spread the chocolate over the Oreos, covering as much as you can. This is the base of the bark, so you really want to make sure the chocolate and Oreo’s are combined.
Now comes the fun part! Add all of the toppings on top of the Oreo chocolate mixture. I used one cup of pretzels, one cup of M&M’s and a handful of sprinkles. press slightly down to make sure they’re into the chocolate. Once you’ve covered all of the bark, let it set. You don’t need to place it in the fridge, it will set nicely just sitting out. When the chocolate isn’t shiny anymore, it’s set. From there break it apart and enjoy!
It’s better than a candy bar! Last year, I placed some of our leftovers into a box and brought them to neighbors, using these tags.
If you’re not going to serve the day of, place them in a container, where it will be good for about a week.
