I was just telling my friends that there is just too much to celebrate this week. There is Teacher Appreciation Week along with Cinco de Mayo, Kentucky Derby and then Mother’s Day finishes it off! Too much in one week, especially for someone who loves celebrating all the things. So, I’m interrupting all of the teacher appreciation posts with these easy sombrero cookies. These are so fun to make and will add to your Cinco celebration. They pair perfectly with margaritas too!
Don’t they look fun?!?
Here is what you’ll need to make them
Sugar cookies- you can use premade cookies or make your own
Dots candy
white icing
sprinkles
Gather your ingredients.
It was easier for me to have the sprinkles in a bowl and the icing in a bag with the tip cut off.
First, use your icing to outline the outside of the cookie (see above picture.) Then, place a dot of icing in the center of the cookie.
After that, flip it over and press it down into the sprinkles.
This is how your cookie should look.
From there, add another dot of icing to the center of your sprinkled covered dots.
Add the dots candy on the top of the icing and you’re done!
Continue the above steps for all of the easy sombrero cookies. Serve and Enjoy!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
