Chocolate bark is one of my favorite treats to make for the holidays. It’s something that is so simple and easy for the kids to help with. Last year for Memorial Day, we made Patriotic Oreo Bark. AG did almost all of the work for this bark and was pretty proud of her creation. And trust me, it was as delicious as it was pretty!
Ingredients
Melted white chocolate
crushed Oreos
festive M&M’s
festive sprinkles
colored (red and blue) melting chocolate
What To Do
First start out with the crushed oreos, pour them onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Pour melted white chocolate over the crushed Oreos. I used about 1 1/2 cups of white chocolate and 2 cups of crushed oreos.
Next, spread the chocolate our over the Oreos. You want the chocolate touching all of the Oreo pieces so they stick together. Next, melt your colored chocolate and pour it onto the white chocolate and Oreo mixture.
Swirl it around with a knife.
After you’ve swirled the chocolate around enough to create your red, white and blue design, it’s time for the fun stuff! Time to decorate with the M&M’s and sprinkles.
She went to town and made sure the bark was covered!
So much goodness in one picture! Now, you patiently let the chocolate set. There really isn’t a need to put it in the fridge, it will set well on the counter after about 20 minutes.
You’ll know it’s set when you can pick up the entire Patriotic Oreo bark off the parchment paper. From there, you can break it into pieces and enjoy immediately!
If you’re saving it for another day, put it into an airtight container for up to 7 days.
