Friends, I cannot believe that this is my last week of summer break. This summer has probably been the most eventful since I’ve been back in the classroom. We closed on our new house on the last day of school and basically have spent our entire summer unpacking and renovating. There have been a lot of bumps in the road but thankfully, as I head back to work, we’re pretty much settled and loving everything that has been done so far. Before school starts, I’ll be having my team over to the house to kick off the school year/ say goodbye to summer. I wanted to have a little goodie for them leave with and decided to make a simple teacher survival kit.
Many years ago, I created this survival kit. While I love that one and it’s still popular here on LWL, I wanted one that was a little more general. I knew what I wanted to include in the kit and if I’m being honest, I didn’t have cute creative ideas for every item, which lead me to these necessities.
When I think of what gets me through those first few weeks, these items are definitely on the list. A bottle of wine would be a nice addition too, but I can’t say that is school friendly.
Here is the line up of items that made this survival kit. What I love about this printable is that there are tons of items that will go with this tag to make it work. I added a few extra items also that aren’t on the tag but I wanted to include.
Items
v8 Energy drink
Sticky Notes
Highlighters
Pencils
Candy
Candle
Snacks
Sanitizer
Crinkle Paper
Container (mine was from Target)
I put everything together, you can see a video on my Instagram page and found a place to put the tag in.
This is a great gift option for your team or for your child’s new teacher. These can be used at the beginning of the school year, for teacher appreciation or at the start of testing season. The options are endless, when it comes to when to gift and the items to add.
I hope this gift idea makes your gifting a little bit easier. Don’t forget, when printing the tags make sure to print on card stock for best results!
If you’re looking for more back to school ideas, I have a bunch pinned on my Pinterest board and these posts you’ll enjoy!
