Today I’m sharing one of the kids favorite treats, ice cream cone cupcakes. These are simple to make and they’re always a hit at parties or for special days. Think regular cupcakes (from a box) baked in a cake cone and you’ll never want to make regular cupcakes again!
I’ve been making these ice cream cone cupcakes for many years. If you’re a long time reader, you may remember them from my sprinkled theme 2nd birthday for AG.
Start off by preparing your cake mix of choice, following the directions on the box. Set aside once batter is made.
Next, cover a cupcake pan with aluminum foil. Make sure it covers the entire pan and is secure at the sides. After that, poke a hole in the center of each cupcake space. Then stand up each cone in the hole. You want the cake cones to stand up and not tilt over.
From there, you’re going to fill the cake cones just over half way full. Mine went to just under the top of the bottom of the cone. Bake at 350 for about 18-20 minutes. When they come out of the oven, let them cool in the pan.
Frost the cupcakes however you wish. I used store bought icing in a piping bag. Keeping them in the cupcake pan will make them easier to decorate. From there, add sprinkles and move the cones to the serving plate.
I promise these will be the HIT of a party and will be requested over and over again!
