Have your kiddos gone back to school yet? Mine started on August 10th, which is also my daughters birthday. Between getting the kids adjusted from summer, getting supplies ready and all the birthday festivities…it’s a crazy week around here. One of the things I make sure to have ready for the first day is something special for the teachers. Since the kids already brought gifts for meet the teacher, I wanted something smaller but still thoughtful for the first day.

These tags would be great for any staff at the school- teachers, lunchroom aids, front office staff, guidance counselors and more. You can go out and buy a big fancy cookie or go to the Dollar Store and stock up on candy bars. There are so many sweet options that will work for this tag.

To put this little gift together, you need just a few things. First, I grabbed a bunch of M&M’s when I was at the grocery store. After you grab your “sweet treat” just print the cards on card stock (for best results.) You can download your free first day of school gift tag here. Now, you can easily tape the tags onto a candy bar or you can grab some bakers twine or ribbon and tie the gift tag to the candy bar to fancy it up a bit.

Remember, gifting doesn’t have to cost a lot or take a lot of time. This is a perfect example. As soon as the kids got to school, I had a message from a friend at school saying that you so much for the treat, it made my morning. I taught for 15 years. I know how crazy the first week of school it. The most important thing is that isn’t about the gifts though. It’s the thought behind it. Just knowing someone has gone out of their way to do something kind for you, to know they’re thinking of you on this day, that is what these little gifts are all about!
