In the 10+ years I’ve had this blog, I haven’t shared a recipe for classic chocolate cookies. This is a recipe everyone needs to have readily available. I make chocolate chip cookies pretty often, as they’re probably the number one preferred by all of the kids. These cookies are perfectly plump, with just the right combination of crisp and chewy. You won’t believe how easy they are to make.
One thing I love about this recipe is that it doesn’t involve any fridge time. Many times, you’ll need to place the dough in the fridge in order to get a thick cookie list this. But not with this recipe, you can make the dough, immediately place it in the oven to bake and enjoy the cookies in less than 30 minutes.
Easy peasy, which is my kind of recipe!
If you’re just making these to enjoy with your kiddos or at home, I recommend baking half of the recipe and freezing the other half. I love having cookie dough in the freezer at all times. It’s perfect for last minute guests, or a meeting that just got added that you’d love to bring something sweet for. Also great for a thinking of you neighbor gift or to send to school with your kiddos.
If you do choose to freeze, I recommend flash freezing the dough first before putting it into a freezer bag. Scoop your dough as you would a cookie. Place it on a parchment lined baking sheet. Then, instead of putting the baking sheet in the oven, it goes into the freezer for about 20 minutes. Once your dough is slightly frozen, place them into a freezer bag and back into the freezer. Before baking them from the freezer, allow them to thaw and then follow the directions above.
