Halloween is quickly approaching, can you believe it’s already next week?!? In all honesty, I haven’t even put up all of our Halloween decorations. There has been a lot going on this month, I feel like most of it’s been spent in catch up mode. But, this week it’s slowed down a bit and we’ve been doing a lot of festive things around here to get ready for the upcoming holiday. One of the things on my list to make in the kitchen with AG were these crescent mummy dogs.
AG and Luke both love Pillsbury rolls, I make them weekly. While Luke wouldn’t appreciate the mummy dog, as he meal would still has to be cut into itty bitty pieces, I knew AG would. I even let her help me wrap the mummy’s up. It was a fun treat for the both of us and tasty too!
We’re having a little halloween playdate next week and I’ll be making these again for all of the littles. They’d even be fun for a Halloween tailgate!
You can find them at the dairy section of your local Publix. Right now you save save $1 on any 2 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Just download this coupon.

Consider it two festive latte’s just for you;)
- 1 can crescent rolls
- 1 package hot dogs we used turkey hotdogs
- 3-4 slices cheddar cheese *Optional
- Preheat oven to 375. Unroll crescent dough.
- Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut each roll in to thin strips.
- Then wrap pieces of crescent dough around your hot dog to make it look like a mummy. I used 2-3 pieces per hotdog, but you can use more!
- Place your mummy dogs on a greased cookie sheet or a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent the dough and cheese from sticking.
- Place your mummy dogs in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes or until dough is lightly browned.
- Serve with ketchup, mustard or your choice of toppings!
The mummy dog recipe can include cheese, which we decided to leave out. AG isn't a fan of the oozy goozy stuff and I knew she wouldn't eat them with cheese. If you use cheese, simply slice it into 3 strips and add the piece to the hotdog before wrapping it with the dough. You can also use olives as eyes to spruce up the festive presentation!
Super cute, I love the mustard for eyes!

Connor would love these! I don’t get very creative with food for him but need to. Maybe that would help get him to eat more!
